What is DELF and DALF ?

DELF (Diploma dEtudes en Langue Franqaise) and DALF (Diploma Approfondi de Langue Franqaise) are official tests developed by the French Ministry of Education. These certify your degree of mastering the French as a foreign language and are life long.

The two exams are devised in line with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), the universal framework that defines the proficiency level of language appropriating into six categories: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.

5. Adopting countries DELF/DALF

Worldwide recognition of DELF/DALF is particularly in:

• Canada- PR under the Express entry and TEF equivalency
• Switzerland – to work or settle in French speaking cantons

6. Form and design of the DELF/DALF test

All the four levels consist of four sections:

The marks are different according to each level but a majority of the examinations are out of 100 and a student must gain a minimum of 50 to have a pass.

7. Studies, immigration, and careers DELF/DALF

Study Abroad:

In case you want to study in a French university, you are likely to need DELF B2 or DALF C1. The certificate is also recognized in Europe, some countries in Africa, and also Canada to the French taught programs.
